Getting Medieval @ Renaissance Faire

chessboard
This past Sunday I attended the annual Kutztown University Medieval Renaissance Faire.  It’s sponsored by the Renaissance Club of the university and is held every year on the weekend before spring semester finals.  The giant chessboard you see is actually for their live action chess game which club members choreograph and put together using themselves as pieces.  Cool fights with medieval weapons are also done, my friend and I watched some of members fence.
Unfortunately, due to the ever increasing rules of the administration at Kutztown U each year the event seems to get smaller and smaller.  They used to have food venders, but in the interest of being brats the school decided if you don’t use the schools food service you cannot have any. There were some nice items for sale like chainmail jewelry and such as well.

This is my friend Cara wearing a chainmail necklace that she bought.  I love all the different bright colors.
All in all it was a nice outing.  I got to hang out with a good friend enjoy the nice weather and went home with a kumrc T-shirt that I bought.

Need Help!

So, I finally have enough content to start posting the blog on blog listing sites.  There is only one problem I have no idea how to categorize it!  Every blog submission site asks you along with the URL and description is a category. I consider it a personal blog. Some sites, however, do not have that as a category choice.  So, here is where you come in! What other words do you think would fit? I don’t want to be incredibly egotistical and say celebrity for sure.  I have a little bit of everything here with even more awesomeness in the future.  Any help would be awesome!

Sylvia Browne’s Oh S*** Face!

Someone’s feeling stupid the last couple days thanks to a surprise in the form of a crappy prediction. Here’s a video to fill you in: (lot of details)
Sylvia Browne dead wrong!
It amazing how much coverage this is getting and rightfully so!  When hunting for a picture two pages worth was dedicated to pictures posted within the last day or so!  I think that this is a reality check for everybody involved.  For Sylvia it is one because she has gone on far to long saying what she wants without having to worry about being double checked.  For others it’s a reality check because you can’t believe what someone says when their popular on TV.  There are some legitimate psychics out in the world I will say that.  I do not however think Sylvia is one of them. Maybe she was good in the beginning, but once the money started rolling in through national TV appearances and her many book deals she stopped caring so much about the people and  problems and more on the bottom line. Keep checking in as I will continue to follow this ever evolving story and update you!

Capper Rant!

*WARNING* This is a ranting post! Proceed with caution!

Status updates on Facebook these days that I see are used way to much to bitch in my opinion.  I am especially annoyed when its a fellow capper (a nickname my best friend and I created) going on about how their life is not fair, but making no inroads to fix it whatsoever.   It's one of those a friend of a friend situations and I really want to put them on off my list, but doing so I might loose the other friend in the process.

Being disabled is hard and indeed fairly often not fair, but your have to keep moving forward!  If I didn't push forward I would have never been on Sesame Street or be working at the bookstore.  Life especially for the handicapped is what you make it!  Any ideas on how I should deal with this problem? Any advice would be appreciated.

Push Girls Comes to WE TV!

I first caught wind of this show last summer. Unfortunately for me it was set to premiere on Sundance channel which I do not have.  A few days ago, however, I was watching Charmed episodes on WE TV and saw a commercial stating that they planned to air the show.  The first four episodes are set to air tonight starting at 8PM EST. The show is still part of the Sundance channel, they were just nice enough to allow this channel to replay their first season.  I am very excited that I finally get to see it!  My favorite part of the show other then the episodes themselves is the shows slogan; “Can’t stand up? Stand out!”

Have any of you seen this already? What are your thoughts? Comment bellow if you feel so inclined!

My Adventures in WAH!

A few weeks ago I found this great blog called “Real Ways to Earn Money Online” it is very cool! The creator and editor Anna posts about different news and reviews of work at home opportunities. It is a true wealth of information and I urge anyone who is looking to make a little extra money to check it out.
As you may or may not know I am on Social Security. Even though I have a part time job working at a local bookstore as well, all of the money from both sources goes toward bills and household expenses. So anything online is very helpful to me so that I can have money to go toward “fun purchases” like books and computer games.
This coming week I will take the time to post about a few of the opportunities I am taking advantage of.  I hope that your enjoy reading about them and maybe give them a try as well!

My new computer.

Now, don't get me wrong my current computer has served me well for 3 and half years now.  There comes a time however that you realize it's time to give up the ghost and move on.  That moment came for me on Saturday when I tried to download a game called MapleStory (by Nexon) that uses hardly any graphics and processor speed at all.  When I ran the game it would load me into the world only to crash with in the first minute.

So, yesterday thanks to a surplus in my savings account (which is unheard of for me) I was able to get a new one. Here are the stats:

asus k55a-hi5014l
-Processor Speed 2.5GHZ (3.1 w/ something called Turbo enabled)
- 4GB Ram (capacity for 8 if I want to buy more someday)
- 500GB of Storage Memory
- Built in Webcam
- Capability to connect it to a tv with HDMI wire

There is other stats, but I cant remember em all those I included in my mind are the most important.  It was shipped out today and according to the receipt should arrive between tomorrow and Monday.  I think it goes without saying that I am VERY excited!

Adventures In Wedding Planning!

NO! I am not getting married.  I am, however, watching The Wedding Planner on TV tonight.  I have always liked this movie a lot.  I even after a few to many hours watching WeTV's wedding shows back in 2008 tried to become one!

It all started when while watching one of those wedding shoes I saw a commercial for Penn Foster Career School and happened upon their certificate program for wedding planning.  I got through  it and got my certificate and even went to a couple wedding expos with my best friend (and let me tell you the catering companies free samples is by far the best part of those!) I haven't done any actual wedding planning though, I don't have a car or a license and its not something ill ever be able to get do to some brain damage as a kid. (no worries I'm over it)

I hope someday maybe a friend will approach me and let me plan theirs, or maybe someday I will be able as time goes on be in better financial situation and hire an assistant to drive me around. Who knows! It would be cool.

If I do I will for sure have to thank Jennifer Lopez for teaching me how to help a bride fix a blotchy spray tan!

Getting Re-Involved in SITS Girls

SITS Girls (Secret is in the Sauce) is a blogging community for women helping those that are new and veteran bloggers grow as people and grow their blogs.  I first heard about this group a few years ago, but was suffering from what I like to call Shy Blogger Syndrome and didn't reach out hardly at all.  I have, however, learned since then that when you are a blogger reaching out is a MUST DO.  I was naive and thought for longer then I should have that "if I write, they will come!"  I am determined now with this blog to change my ways and not be afraid to reach out!

I am hoping that information and people I find through this community will help me grow. I also will make sure to post to you all about it through updates in the future.  So, *deep breath* wish me luck!

I'm a Swagbucks virgin!

Search & Win

This afternoon I was doing my usual routine of checking my Facebook, checking my email and my favorite blogs when I came across something cool.  One of my favorite blogs to visit is Dandilyon Fluff that is written and run by my favorite writer and surrogate mom Angela.

Today she wrote a post about being able to buy her hubby a great birthday present (a computer monitor he wanted) thanks to some help from a amazon gift card she redeemed through Swagbucks. Swagbucks is a website where you can earn said SB to redeem towards gifts like gift cards, electronics and even paypal cards. To earn SB you complete activities. There are many choices which include the usual surveys, but also coupons, games, watching TV spots and even more!

Now keep in mind this is my first day, but so far I have made a decent amount and I am told if your diligent you can rack up points fast. I will post occasionally on my progress, so stay tuned.  You also receive bucks for referrals so here is my code. Please, if you feel so inclined join me!

It's All About Me!

I have many facets to my life. Both past and present.  I used to be on Sesame Street from ages 9 to 16.  I'm have a disease called Osteogenesis Imperfecta (brittle bone disease).  I am also an internet entrepreneur.  I thought to myself if I made a blog about every interest I  have I would have dozens and keeping them ALL updated would be impossible. So, to that end I decided why not make a blog about about myself and in it include all MY interests.  That is what this blog is anything I feel like talking about, showing. selling or whatever. So, join me Tarah Schaeffer on what I hope to be a great ride!
